My apartment can SOMETIMES find the Internet now...

Posted by: Kim

Hi, hi, I'm checking in while I briefly have Internet to pimp out a TV show I have never seen but that is my new favorite because Carter Baizen is in it and I love him and also (to a lesser degree, because I am that sad and shallow and so it's mostly about Carter) I think it will be Important Television! With Important Themes and Messages Relevant To Society Today! Or at least layered or whatever, like they tell me Lost is.

Anyway, everyone watch Kings. Who doesn't want Sunday night TV? People who know about TV tell me this is actually a bad time slot and thus the show will immediately be canceled. Also, that the show is going to be too smart for people to want to watch. But, um, no. It's going to be awesome. Sunday night TV about an alternate universe King David? Who doesn't love David's story? It's the best, most gay story in the Bible ever! Let's go!

Also, Carter Baizen, hi. I don't know (or care) what his name is on Kings yet. In real life it's Sebastian, though, which is probably even marginally cooler than Carter Baizen. And he dates Leighton! And I love him.

It's better than the time I read all four Twilight books because of a sort of crush on Robert Pattinson at least, isn't it?

Two Wins And A FAIL!

Posted by: Jen

Ooooh, fashion week in Paris! Why wasn't I invited?

Oh, right, because I am not important enough. Anyway, I will pretend I am and give two thumbs up (to each) to Keira and Mischa for looking AWESOME.

First, Keira at the Chanel show:

Kim would die over this and even though I am not a big pencil skirt fan (I am too short to pull it off) I do have to say this is awesome. If I were a lawyer or somebody professional, this would be my office outfit. I also think I am a fan of Keira's bangs, even though they remind me of the kind I had when I was four... They started at the middle of my head and came forward to cover my eyebrows. Whatever, it was the 80's and I was adorable.

Next, Marissa Cooper!

Yay! Hi Mischa, I forgot about you. You still look nice and I have to admit, I REALLY like that color. I also like the cut and the details. The shoes are kind of stripper-y but your fabulous hair makes up for it. Now, please tell me that is not a real fur that you are holding and I will go see your next movie, whatever it is.

Lastly (not in Paris, some random event), our FAIL:

Leighton!!! What is is this? Did you decide to go with a strapless bandage dress, worry that you might get chilly and throw a sheer dress over it, just in case? We expect so much more of you! What would Blair Waldorf say?

A Continuation ...

Posted by: Kim

... of Jen's previous post, which spectacularly illustrated Leighton's awesomeness.

These Stuart Weitzman shoes blew my brain out this morning upon viewing (particularly the astronomical bid on Buffy's "I <3 NYC" collage she pasted on a stiletto (good call on the rabid, creepy fan, Crust) and I just had to throw a few more out there. Namely, the ones I would wear without batting an eye, after stealing them out of a rabid, creep fan's closet or winning a little bit of lottery so that I can support what, as Jen pointed out, really IS a great cause:
Hilary Duff's. Have I ever mentioned I sort of love Hilary Duff? Well, I do. Jen does too. She's got great style, and she just seems cool, in an 'I-hang-out-with-my-hockey-player-boyfriend-and-mind-my-own-business' kind of way.

And Rachel Bilson's. Who I love for pretty much the same exact reasons minus the hockey player part and adding in the fact that she's the more acceptable girl crush anyway, because ... um ... she's ... brunette? Dated Adam Brody?

Whatever. Love them both, and their shoes for a cause.

WEEKEND!

S, B and G Design Shoes To Fight Ovarian Cancer

Posted by: Jen

So, Stuart Weitzman is having a charity auction to benefit ovarian cancer by auctioning off shoes designed by celebrities. Of course, Blake, Leighton and Michelle were all asked to contribute:

Georgina would totally wear these and then stab you with them. I kind of feel like Michelle T. really WANTS to be Georgina, or be taken seriously, or something, and these kind of bore me.

Leighton's. Awesome. Ugly, but awesome. I am now officially convinced that she would be the most fun to hang out with, but would probably just make fun of me instead of be my friend, and that's ok! She's one of the cool kids.

Yes, Serena, cover your shoes in candy. Sigh. OBVIOUSLY.

Anyway, it IS a really good cause and if I had $400 to spend on a really ugly shoe, I would totally want to fight ovarian cancer. I totally get the feeling that all of these will be snatched up by creepy dudes who live in their mom's basements and have life sized cardboard cutouts of their favorite actress next to their bed (yo, did you SEE the going rate for the Sarah Michelle Gellar shoe? You know some freaky Buffy fan is all over that shit), and not those who want to cure cancer.

She made "Waldorf" rhyme with "Spears"!

Posted by: Kim

I'm too busy trying to keep myself from collapsing in a whimpering heap on the floor over Tom Brady's As-Yet-Still-Top-Secret-Season-Ending-Knee-Injury-We-All-Know-Is-A-Torn-ACL (why won't they say it?) to even contemplate Leighton in that Missoni sheet Jen posted about. I in fact will choose to blame the Missoni rather than Leighton, because I tend to be 75-25, or 70-30 at best when it comes to appreciating Missoni anyway.

But here!:

In Julis Haus (I have the Old Navy version, no joke. I love pink. I know, you're shocked.) and awesome shoes I also have a lesser (though, mine might actually be awesomer) version of.

AND:

Wearing what is pretty much the exact outfit I will wear to all of these events once I start making it onto the guest lists. Black dresses and red lipstick ftw.

Eeeep!

Posted by: Jen

Eeeep! Leighton, I am going to think about all of the other times you've looked absolutely amazing at events (read: every event) and then combine it with you general kick-ass wardrobe on GG and completely forget that you wore this hideous multi-colored sheet. Carry on.

Stalking the cast of GG all the way back around to ... more of the cast of GG!

Posted by: Kim

Okay, okay, okay. How come no one told me or Jen that one of our favorites, one of our Dream Team of Friends (though we're starting to think she might not like us ...) Leighton has a boyfriend? And that it's Carter Baizen? I mean, one quick google search tells me that this is like, totally common knowledge among the diehard fans, and I am so not up on my game, here.

Anyway. Carter Baizen is hot.

And Sebastian Stan - as he likes to be called in real life - and Leighton are pretty adorable.

Amidst my stalking, I decided that Carter/Sebastian looked pretty familiar, so I did a little imdb search and learned that he was in one of the worst movies I have ever seen, ever, and I mean that in a it was really, really bad and just in a really, really bad way, as opposed to a really really GREAT bad way, which is how I usually like my movies: The Covenant.

I was super psyched for The Covenant when it came out a couple of falls ago. It's pretty much everything I want in a movie, which is to say it's about hot boys and evil and Massachusetts. I love hot boys and evil and Massachusetts. I love how every Massachusetts movie (like, Fever Pitch notwithstanding) is either a horror movie or a college-or-prep school movie, and more often than not, a preppy college horror movie. And there's ALWAYS a Salem witch running around. Fantastic.

Anyway, so I went in with the highest of hopes, and was so mad in the end.

Basically there's a really tall hot guy (Good Boy-Witch, don'
t know his name - this is why I am a bad celebrity stalker, I give up too easily) and a not-as-tall hot guy (Bad Boy-Witch, Carter/Sebastian) and there are some other cute little Boy Witchlets (one def. good, one maybe bad, though they drop that storyline pretty quickly which is dumb because it actually could have been interesting, and one who just hangs out) and then there are a couple of chicks there to see stuff in the shower and serve as lame catalysts. So then Carter wants to steal Tall Hot Good Witch's power because he (THGW) is turning 18 and coming into it fully or whatever, and so they have this battle and Carter's all, "How about I make you my WI-ATCH?!" (no, for real, that's what he says) and there's a gratuitous boy kiss and stuff and then Good trumps Evil but MAYBE NOT FOREVER! The end.

And OMG it is so bad. I'm not just saying this because I am a movie snob. I am not. I hate movie snobs. I
want it to be good. I want to love it. I want to want it on my shelf. It's so completely right up my movie-watching alley, and yet, no. Ugh. Even with all the hot boys running around half-naked for no reason (they're swimmers!).

But anyway, so I'm all reading about how Sebastian (I haven't decided if I'm going with Carter or Sebastian yet, so, just, you know) starred in this piece of should-have-been cinematic genius, some Web site's like, "and Sebastian met his girlfriend, GG's Lei
ghton Meester, through his Covenant co-star Chace Crawford."

Stop. Rewind. What?
Nate was in The Covenant? I know, right, you're thinking, "well Kim, when you stalked Chace over to imdb to make sure he was old enough for you to be lusting over (yes), didn't you read his filmography?" Well, no. Told you. BAD STALKER. So my mind's reeling and I'm all, "Tall Hot Good Witch? Nope. Wasn't him. Carter, nope. Um, the very blond one, nope. The one with the motorcycle, nope ... OH. OH! The OTHER one! The one who doesn't do anything! The one who just hangs out! THE ONE WITH THE HUMMER! NATE'S THE WITCH WITH THE HUMMER!"

Yup.

And now I totally have to rent this. And it's still going to be bad.

But, hey. 3 more days!

ONE Week!

Posted by: Jen

Ok, so I know I always bitch about not being invited to events in this city, but this time I am serious. I mean, I know I could pay more attention, put on my heavily discounted Pucci and party crash, but come on... I want an invitation! Anyway, last night Bendel's (of course -- yo, I've never even been inside Barney's, but I do admire the windows on my way to H&M -- love you Simon!) Gossip Girl held its season two launch party.

Noticeably absent from the party of my life were Serena and Dan! It makes me sad because what kind of person doesn't attend a party for themselves? I will try to avoid projecting diva behavior on the both of them and instead talk about our other favorites and my general concern that Little J is heading down the path of Lindsay Lohan (before she met Sam Ronson and died her hair a lovely shade of blonde/red).

Leighton and Jessica, looking pretty! I miss Jessica's curls though! I mean, sure they are probably obnoxious as anything to keep from frizzing, but still! So pretty!

Nicole rocks a bandage dress. So many people hate this style, but you know what? It works. And if I were not shaped like a tyrannosaurus rex I would also wear one. To work. And the grocery store. And everywhere because it is a fucking bandage dress and I will be saggy and 75 someday so why not?

Leighton always looks perfect. Kim and I aspire to have her kind of awesomeness someday.

Oh hey Little J, did you watch "The Crow" before coming to the premier? What's wrong, did your mom take away your Sidekick? Would it kill you to smile? And I am not saying this in the typical condescending "girls should be smiley!!!" kind of way -- you are MUCH to young to pout at the camera like that and I know my saying it makes me OLD but think of it as coming from your "cool" aunt. I'm nervous for you. For the next 10 years make sure you ALWAYS leave the house wearing underwear.
